Polar H10 + KardioAS

Polar H10 & KardioAS - ECG recording, RR interval analysis and HRV on Android & Windows.

Polar H10 can be used with KardioAS as a compatible chest sensor for direct acquisition of a single-channel ECG signal and RR interval sequence.

The sensor connects directly by Bluetooth Low Energy to an Android smartphone or Windows computer. No additional controller, hardware gateway or intermediate device is required.

After recording, KardioAS stores the study and provides access to rhythm analysis, heart rate variability, ECG morphology, study comparison, parameter trends and report generation.

01 · Direct connection

From the chest sensor directly to KardioAS.

The current acquisition path is intentionally simple: Polar H10 → Bluetooth Low Energy → KardioAS. The sensor transmits data directly to the supported device, where the recording is stored as a study for later review and analysis.

02 · What is recorded

The source data remain available for analysis.

KardioAS does not reduce the workflow to an average pulse value or a single score. The recorded study remains at the center of the analysis.

Single-channel ECG

The chest-lead electrical signal is stored for visual review and subsequent software analysis.

RR intervals

The sequence of beat-to-beat intervals forms the basis for heart rate variability analysis.

Heart rate

Heart rate is interpreted together with the ECG trace and RR dynamics rather than as an isolated number.

Signal first, analysis second. The original study remains available so the user can return to the source recording instead of relying only on calculated summary values.
03 · HRV analysis

Heart rate variability as a set of complementary characteristics.

The RR interval sequence can be used to examine several aspects of heart rate variability. KardioAS presents multiple analytical views rather than treating HRV as a single universal score.

Time-domain measures

Beat-to-beat variability can be summarized through standard time-domain characteristics.

Spectral analysis

Frequency-domain views provide an additional perspective on the structure of RR variability.

Nonlinear views

Poincaré and other nonlinear representations help visualize patterns that are not captured by a single scalar metric.

04 · ECG analysis

From signal review to structural analysis.

The recorded ECG remains available after the session for direct visual inspection and software-assisted analysis.

Original ECG trace

Review the recorded waveform itself instead of relying only on derived metrics.

R peaks and cardiac cycles

Detected R peaks and beat structure provide the timing framework for rhythm and morphology analysis.

Morphology features

QRS-related characteristics and representative beat morphology can be examined when signal quality permits.

Signal quality matters. Morphological interpretation depends on electrode contact, motion artefacts, recording conditions and the characteristics of the individual study. Software-detected P, Q, R, S and T landmarks are available only when the signal quality supports reliable detection.

05 · Longitudinal use

A study remains useful after the recording ends.

Because studies are saved, KardioAS can be used not only for viewing one session but also for repeated review and longitudinal observation.

08 · Expandable platform

Polar H10 is the current supported sensor — not the limit of KardioAS.

Polar H10 is the current compatible sensor for the ECG/RR workflow described here. KardioAS is designed as an expandable analytical system rather than a product tied permanently to one sensor model.

The platform is being developed toward support for additional ECG sources, pulse-wave and PPG acquisition, and synchronized multi-signal studies as compatible acquisition modules are implemented and validated.

09 · Important limitations

What should be considered when working with chest-sensor ECG.

Polar H10 provides a single-channel signal from a chest-electrode configuration. This can be useful for rhythm, RR-interval and selected morphology analysis, but it is substantially different from a standard diagnostic 12-lead ECG.

  • KardioAS does not replace a diagnostic 12-lead ECG.
  • KardioAS does not replace professional medical assessment.
  • Software-derived interpretations should not be used as the sole basis for a medical diagnosis.
  • The quality of derived results depends on the quality of the source recording.

If symptoms occur or there are concerns about health status, the appropriate action is to seek assessment from a qualified medical professional.

Polar H10 and KardioAS.

Does KardioAS work with Polar H10?

Yes. Polar H10 is the currently supported chest sensor for the ECG and RR acquisition workflow described on this page. The sensor hardware is purchased separately from KardioAS.

Is extra hardware required between Polar H10 and the computer?

No. In the current workflow, Polar H10 connects directly by Bluetooth Low Energy to a supported Android device or Windows computer.

Does KardioAS require cloud processing?

Core recording, study storage and analysis are designed to run locally. An external cloud service is not required for the core analytical workflow.

Is Polar H10 ECG equivalent to a diagnostic 12-lead ECG?

No. Polar H10 provides a single non-standard chest-sensor ECG channel, which is substantially different from a diagnostic 12-lead ECG.

Is KardioAS a Polar product?

No. KardioAS is an independent software product. Polar H10 is used as a compatible third-party sensor.
